The main scientific area of the laboratory is the development of scientific foundations and technology for the complex processing of iron–containing rare metal and other types of ore raw materials of complex composition and man-made waste.

The main function of the NTC is to conduct research and development of elastomeric materials and technologies for their processing. The tasks of the center: - Development of research methodology for modern elastomeric materials - Development of formulations of elastomeric materials for various purposes - Modeling of elastomeric materials and products - Calculation and design of elastomeric products - Coordination of work on import substitution of raw materials for the production of elastomeric materials and products together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia - Analytical, consulting and expert activities in the field of elastomeric materials technology. The NTC was established at RTU MIREA on the basis of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Elastomer Processing named after F.F. Koshelev of the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies (HTPE ITHT).

Each laboratory employee is a specialist in the field of rheology; we not only conduct rheological research, we develop the rheological approach in domestic science and practice.
