Development and research of microelectromechanical systems and semiconductor sensors

Since 2012, the laboratory has been engaged in the development, research and production of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and converters based on semiconductor structures. The main physical quantities for measurements are pressure (differential, excess and absolute) and temperature. Pressure sensing elements operating in the range from 0.1 to 16,000 kPa and at temperatures from -60 to +80 ° C with a total measurement error of up to 0.5% and temperature sensing elements operating with low energy consumption in the range from -60 to +80 ° C with an error of up to 0.8% can be placed together in a small-sized housing.

The peaceful applications of nuclear energy can only be ensured with the proper application of electronics. BAEC is dedicated to the successful implementation of the "Atomic Energy for Peace" program in the country. On the basis of this objective, the Institute of Electronics with the required basic facilities was established in 1981 at the AERE complex. A strong determination and motivation by a group of dedicated scientists/engineers with good backup from the concerned Authority is keeping everything on the track. The basic purpose of this undertaking is to develop an infrastructure for electronics, both nuclear and non-nuclear on a national scale and at the same time to create a good impact on human resource development.

Electronics-Telecommunications and Applications Laboratory

University of Ioannina

Electronics-Telecommunications and Applications Laboratory, of the Physics Department, University of Ioannina was founded in 2001 by Prof. Panos Kostarakis in order to promote research and teaching in the fields of applied electronics and telecommunications. Staff Members of Electronics Telecommunications and Applications Lab, Physics Department, University of Ioannina have in depth experience in electronics and telecommunication R&D. ETA Lab have excellent cooperation relations, within and outside Greek borders, with several universities, research centers and enterprises. The research team consists of 5 faculty and 4 researchers.
