The laboratory conducts research on insect phylogeny

One of the main tasks of the laboratory is the search, study and introduction into scientific circulation of materials (wood samples, animal fossils, historical documents) reflecting the relationship between the environment and man in the past.

The laboratory staff conducts research in four main areas: 1 - The study of evolutionary relationships between groups of organisms reconstructed at different levels of organization; 2 - The study of time processes occurring in biological systems at different levels and on different time scales; 3 - The study of the ecological foundations of evolutionary processes; 4 - Analysis of genetic diversity and phylogeographic structure model vertebrate species of Northern Eurasia.
