The laboratory was created to implement the Russian Science Foundation project 23-17-20011 "Assessment of the risks of dangerous phenomena for the infrastructure of the Magadan region caused by climatic and anthropogenic transformation of permafrost rocks." The main goal of the project is to study the current state of the cryolithozone of the Magadan region, the processes of formation of dangerous phenomena associated with the transformation of its characteristics, and forecast their dynamics in the future, taking into account climate change and anthropogenic impact.
