Modeling of cold astrochemical processes, studies of the structure and properties of intermediates and unusual molecules at cryogenic temperatures, development of promising nanosensitizers for radiotherapy and theranostics using X-ray radiation, radiation-chemical synthesis of metal-polymer nanocomposites.

The laboratory is working on the study of Langmuir monolayers and Langmuir-Blodgett films of functional organic compounds: hemicyanin dyes, crown compounds, porphyrins, phthalocyanines and their complexes with transition metals and lanthanides. Additionally, the physicochemical properties of vesicular supramolecular structures - niosomes - are being studied.

Our research interests are related to computer modeling of heterogeneous systems and processes at the atomic (molecular) level. We use methods such as classical molecular dynamics (MD), density functional theory (DFT), quantum mechanical theory of electron transport, PIC (particle-in-cell). Key research areas: Structure of the electrode/electrolyte interface applied to electrochemical current sources; Heterogeneous electron transfer and ion intercalation; Phenomena of partial charge transfer between the surface and the adsorbate in the context of gas sensors; Plasma separation of spent nuclear fuel; Modeling of colloidal nanoparticles (quantum dots, micelles); Chemistry of defects in solid body (surface segregation, diffusion).

The laboratory deals with all aspects of the biophysics of cell membranes and viruses, the creation of antibacterial and antiviral drugs, combining methods of electrochemistry, organic chemistry, structural biology, biophysics and molecular modeling.

Development of synthesis methods, study of the structure and properties of complex-cationic phosphates, synthesis and investigation of the properties of new membrane ion-exchange materials, including hybrid membranes with high stability and improved microstructure and transport properties, synthesis, study of the structure and properties of REE compounds with mixed anionic composition, study of ionic mobility in oxide and phosphate materials.
