The laboratory conducts research on the production of high-purity ceramic materials for optical and laser applications. The lab has developed a technology for synthesizing ZnSe and ZnS via the CVD method, along with techniques for doping them with transition metal ions. Additionally, new materials based on nanodispersed MgAl₂O₄, Y₂O₃, Lu₂O₃, Sc₂O₃, and Y₃Al₅O₁₂ are being developed for infrared (IR) optics and laser generation. The laboratory is equipped with a wide range of instruments for nanopowder synthesis, ceramic sintering, and characterization of material properties. The lab also features an in-house polishing facility, where research is conducted on the polishing process of optical materials.
