The basis of the Laboratory's activity is the implementation of fundamental and applied research in the following areas: synthesis and modification of materials at high temperatures and dynamic pressures; scientific foundations of new highly efficient technologies for the creation of structural, functional and instrumental materials and coatings, materials science. The laboratory conducts fundamental and applied research on the following topics:

  • Formation of the structural and phase state of high-temperature ceramic materials by electric pulse methods of consolidation of powders of carbides, borides, nitrides of transition metals.
  • Mechanisms and macrokinetics of interrelated electrothermal and deformation processes in powder materials during electrical pulse consolidation on various spatial and temporal scales.
  • Creation of new effective hybrid electric pulse methods for obtaining ultrahigh-temperature ceramic materials from powders.
