The main directions of the laboratory's work: - The introduction of methods of structural and functional genomics to solve traditional problems of control and management of genetic resources of fur-bearing animals and rabbits. - The study of the molecular and genetic foundations of the formation of economically valuable traits. - Development of methods for the diagnosis of genetically determined diseases, analysis of the genetic material of infectious agents is carried out. - Identification of highly polymorphic genomic elements that make it possible to obtain a population-genetic "portrait" with high resolution of animal groups in order to select and select parental pairs with a high potential for the realization of heterosis effects in offspring. - Development of methods for genomic assessment of success and forecasting of breeding processes. - Development of methods for obtaining animals with knocked-out genes to obtain animals with the required characteristics.
