Laboratory of kinetic processes in gases
The laboratory's main task is to study the kinetics of physico-chemical processes occurring in high-temperature gas flows, and to provide gas dynamics with the necessary process models and coefficients of these models. In addition to the fundamental scientific problems associated with the study of the kinetics of molecules in a high-temperature gas, these tasks have a wide range of practical applications in such applied fields as supersonic aerodynamics, gorenje processes control, environmental problems of the Earth and near-Earth atmosphere, the creation of appropriate problem-oriented information resources, etc. At the experimental complex "Shock tube", consisting of three shock tubes: TCB, UTM and UTD, studies of thermally nonequilibrium processes in the atmospheres of planets at temperatures above 10000K, studies of their radiation properties, and problems of controlling the combustion of gas mixtures are being solved. Gorenje A group of theorists develops the theoretical foundations of physical gas dynamics and performs numerical modeling of the studied processes.
