Andrey V Dunaev
About
Dr Andrey Dunaev received his diploma in Instrumental Engineering (MSc) and diploma in Management (MSc) at Orel State Technical University (now - State University - Education-Science-Production Complex), Orel, Russia, in 1999. In December 2002 he was awarded a PhD degree for his work on biomedical equipment “Method of control of the absorbed radiation power in epidermis during low-level laser therapy”. Now his research interests include the development of biomedical non-invasive optical diagnostics methods and devices – such as laser Doppler flowmetry, tissue reflectance oximetry and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Topics of research:
- metrological support of devices for laser Doppler flowmetry;
- methods and means for diagnostics the functional state of peripheral vessels;
- methodological and instrumentation provision of fluorescence spectroscopy for medicine;
- physical and technical aspects of low-level laser therapy.
Since 2005 he was associate professor (docent) of Department “Instrumentation, metrology and certification” at State University ESPC (part time - 25%). He was teaching lectures on “Laser and light apparatus in physiotherapy and surgery”, “Optoelectronic Devices in Diagnostics, Therapy and Surgery”, “Basis of Bio spectrophotometry”, “Modeling Biological Processes and Systems” etc.
Since 2010 is chief executive of Scientific-Educational Center (SEC) “Biomedical Engineering” at State University ESPC. At 2011-2013 years worked as Postdoctoral Researcher (Marie Currie Research Fellow) at the University of Dundee (Dundee, Scotland, UK) on the "MEDILASE" project (now as associate staff of Division of Physics at University of Dundee).
Since February 2014 is a Leading Research Fellow at Scientific-Educational Center "Biomedical Engineering" of State University ESPC (since 01.04.2016 - Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev), since December 2016 is a head of the Laboratory of Biomedical Photonics of University Hospital, since November 2017 - Director of Research & Development Center of Biomedical Photonics.
