Abstract
A new visible light active photoredox catalyst is reported for metal-free atom transfer radical polymerization. Phenyl [b]benzophenothizaine successfully mediates controlled synthesis of methacrylate polymers under visible light LED illumination with the ability to temporally control the reaction course and synthesis of block copolymers.
