Abstract
In addition to tungsten(0)-carbene and tungsten(0)-isonitrile complexes, we have found tungsten(VI)-imido complexes to be active catalysts for the metathesis of carbodiimides. The reaction products were analyzed by GC/MS and provide some insight into the reaction pathway. The metathesis proceeds by an exchange of imido groups.
