Ternary nitrides: a rapidly growing class of new materials

Abstract
Recent advances have been made in search on the synthesis and structure of ternary nitrides. The majority of these phases contain discrete nitridometallate anions and are usually electrical insulators. The remainder, with extended structures, may have useful electronic or physical properties.
