Abstract
The review describes the preparation and applications of cyclopalladated complexes with an (sp3)C–Pd bond. Examples of known (sp3)C,N, C,P, C,S, C,O, and C,C complexes as well as pincer derivatives are provided. Preparation methods for the synthesis of palladacycles with an (sp3)C–Pd bond include Pd(II)-promoted C–H bond activation, oxidative addition to Pd(0) species, transmetalation, nucleophilic addition, and modifications of preformed palladacycles. Known applications of cyclopalladated complexes with (sp3)C–Pd bond as catalysts in Heck and Suzuki-Miyaura reactions, phosphination of α,β -unsaturated ketones and related compounds, as well as in a few other transformations are summarized. Another important application of cyclopalladated complexes is the modification of cyclopalladated ligands using reactions at the (sp3)C–Pd bond. Examples of acetoxylation, iodination, arylation, and phosphination of cyclopalladated ligands are provided.
