Abstract
• The new phosphoryl-containing tripodand on the triazine platform is synthesized. • Its IR, UV–vis spectra, complexing and ion-selective properties are studied. • Crystal structures of L and its complexes with LiI, LiClO 4 and KI are obtained. • Phosphoryl oxygen atoms of L participate in coordination with the metals. • The synthesized tripodand exhibits Li + and good Li + /Na + selectivity. The synthesis, IR, UV–vis spectra, the stability constants of the Li + L, Na + L and K + L complexes in MeCN and ion-selective properties of new phosphoryl-containing tripodand 2,4,6-tris[2-(diphenylphosphoryl)-4-ethylphenoxy]-1,3,5-triazine (L) and crystal structures L·H 2 O ( 1 ), [LiL(ClO 4 )…(H 2 O)LLi](ClO 4 )·11H 2 O ( 2 ), [LiLI…(H 2 O)LLi]I·18H 2 O ( 3 ) and [K 2 L 2 I]I·7.2H 2 O ( 4 ) were described. The podand L exhibits Li + and good Li + /Na + selectivity.
