Abstract
Triphenylphosphine and tributylphosphine are excellent catalysts for Michael additions. Many β-dicarbonyl compounds and electron-poor olefins, including sterically demanding partners, react successfully. The Michael addition catalyzed by phosphines deserves attention in its own right as a useful synthetic method. Graphical Abstract
