Phase analysis and structural state of AlCoFeCrNi high-entropy alloy of non-equiatomic composition

Abstract
Investigation into quantitative content of phases (QPA) in Al34Co5Fe16Cr8Ni37 high-entropy alloy by Rietveld method is carried out. Standard lattices were determined on the basis of convex hull method. It is established that Al34Co5Fe16Cr8Ni37 alloy decayed into AlNi, AlFeCo2 and Cr8Fe10 phases. Total contribution of the phases into integral intensity amounts to 97.13%. Investigation into stability of the detected phases both at 0 K and at room temperature is carried out. From the first principles the thermodynamic and mechanical characteristics of separate phases are determined. These will allow the determination of the indicated characteristics for Al34Co5Fe16Cr8Ni37 high-entropy alloy as a whole in further investigations.
