Abstract

The magnetic properties of a Mn II dimer L 2 Mn 2 (μ-OOCCMe 3 ) 4 (L = 2,6-diaminopyridine) can be correctly described with allowance for isotropic bilinear (−2 J 1 = 16.5 cm −1 ) and biquadratic (−2 J 2 = 0.49 cm −1 ) exchange, the latter crucially influencing the magnetic susceptibility in the whole temperature range.
