Abstract
ABSTRACT The dynamics of the light-induced director rotation has been studied for a comb-shaped polymers in nematic phase with a small amount (0.05 wt %) of azobenzene-dye additive. The effect of temperature on the rotational viscosity and nonlinear optical response of the liquid crystalline polymers was investigated. The orientational processes occured at the beam intensity ∼0.5 W/cm2. Cooling the samples below the glass temperature results in the memory effect.
