Abstract
In this work third harmonic generation from liquid in terahertz frequency range is addressed. Its generation from a hemisphere of liquid is compared with the one from a layer of water. High generation efficiency is provided by a giant third- order vibrational nonlinearity of water in terahertz frequency range and the fact that the radiation intensity values are high. Spherical lens, formed by a drop of water on a silicon substrate, provides additional enhancement of transmitted radiation.
