Abstract

154 Compounds with the copper(II)–carbon bond can be intermediates of radical reactions [1] catalyzed by copper complexes [2]. They are formed in reactions of copper(I) compounds with organic radicals [1]. Their lifetimes under normal conditions are small (10–2– 10–6 s), but they can be stabilized in a frozen solvent matrix at 77 K. One of the methods of their synthesis is photolysis of tetrachlorocuprates in a frozen solvent matrix. For example, photolysis of quaternary ammonium tetra PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
