Abstract
Effect of reaction medium acidity on the phase composition and morphology of manganese dioxide obtained by microwave hydrothermal treatment was studied. Conditions for the preparation of single-phase nanocrystalline polymorphs of manganese dioxide, birnessite and cryptomelane, were revealed. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy.
