Abstract
Рассмотрены возможности использования космических методов мониторинга лесных экосистем горных территорий. Проанализированы преимущества применения данных дистанционного зон- дирования Земли для оценки площади лесов и ее динамики. Оценена площадь различных типов лесов на территории Кабардино-Балкарии по спутниковым данным Landsat 5 TM и радарной топографической съемки (SRTM).
