The anomalous resisto-acoustic effect is observed when the velocity of a weakly inhomogeneous wave first rises and then falls as the conductivity of the layer on the surface of a piezoelectric specimen or a structure with a piezoelectric grows. The results from studying the effect of features of structures that contain conducting layers are considered. The geometric parameters of structures in which the effect is observed and disappears are determined. It is shown that when the distance between a layer with arbitrary conductivity and a piezoelectric surface is increased, the magnitude of the positive change in the wave velocity declines. When the distance between a perfectly conducting screen and a piezoelectric–layer with arbitrary conductivity structure is increased, this magnitude grows. Studies are performed for potassium niobate crystal. The final results can be used to better understand the fundamental physics of the propagation of weakly inhomogeneous piezoactive acoustic waves.
