Development of new optoelectronic materials based on compositions of liquid crystals and polymers, investigation of their structural, optical, electro- and magneto-optical properties. The study of surface phenomena in LC materials, the development of methods for controlled modification of interfacial boundary conditions through mechanical deformation, exposure to light, electric or magnetic fields.

Experimental studies of optical and spectral properties of dielectric and ferroelectric crystals. Investigation of disordered molecular crystals, including nanoscale particles. Automation of a physical experiment. Lattice dynamics, vibrational spectra, mechanisms of structural phase transitions, numerical modeling of these processes.
