Laboratory for Monitoring and Forecasting Climate and Environmental Changes

The main goal of the project is to study the current state of the cryolithozone of the Magadan region, the processes of formation of dangerous phenomena associated with the transformation of its characteristics, and forecast their dynamics in the future, taking into account climate change and anthropogenic impact. Based on the synthesis of monitoring data and the results of complex field research, analysis of remote sensing materials, and regional climate projections combined by mathematical modeling methods, a quantitative assessment of changes in the characteristics of permafrost soils caused by climate warming and their impact on the stability of buildings and structures will be obtained.
