The Noakes Foundation's Lab for Questioning the Science™

We focus on three major themes: 1. Evaluating Nutrition Education in Under-Resourced Communities: We research the efficacy of Eat Better South Africa's interventions teaching local communities about the dangers of excessive sugar and carbohydrate consumption. 2. Nutritional Effects of Insulin Resistance: The Insulin Resistance model's explanations for interventions are tested based on patients' real-world compliance and their outcomes. 3. Academic Free Speech and Digital Voices: Although free speech is an ideal in Higher Education, it is seldom realised in practice. TNF supports research into silencing in the Health Sciences for LCHF and other “controversial” topics. We also describe dissident scientists’ use of digital voice and their negotiation of digital visibility's risks.
