Research directions
Complex processing of man-made waste
+
- Recycling of waste from the aluminum industry (red sludge) to produce products for the metallurgical, construction and chemical industries; - Processing of by-products of recycling of steelmaking dusts to obtain ferroalloys and materials for the construction industry; - recycling of ash from thermal power plants with vanadium extraction; - complex processing of petrochemical catalysts
Development of technologies for processing complex ores
+
The complex use of titanomagnetites to produce vanadium cast iron (or vanadium-doped steel product), vanadium pentoxide and a high-titanium product (synthetic rutile or anatase). Complex processing of quartz-leucoxene sandstones of the Yareg and Pyzhem deposits (Komi Republic) to produce artificial rutile, pseudorutyl, synthetic needle wollastonite, calcined quartz sand and with the extraction of rare (zirconium, niobium) and rare earth elements. Extraction of vanadium from slags and man-made waste; production of pure grades of vanadium pentoxide for the production of titanium alloys and the chemical industry. Complex processing of rare earth ores to produce a collective oxide rare earth concentrate and niobium-titanium concentrate. Complex use of oxidized (laterite) nickel ores, including hydro- and pyrometallurgical processes with selective extraction of nickel and cobalt, with the production of metallic nickel-cobalt concentrate, ferronickel (10-20% Ni) and nickel cast iron (2-2.5% Ni).
