Prof. Zhou is CEO/Senior Researcher at International Triple Helix Institute, since Aug. 2013. She got a B.S. in physics, M.S. in science teaching methods and Ph.D. in science, technology and innovation policy. Her research now focuses on entrepreneurial university, university-industry-government Triple Helix for innovation and sustainability, especially on government’s roles, startups and regional innovation (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user =qX6OYPMAAAAJ&hl=en ). Zhou is co-author of book The Triple Helix (with Henry Etzkowitz, 2nd edition, 2018); author of book From Science to Technology: the Scientific Basis in the Technological Era (科学技术化:技术时代的科学基础); and translator of book PASTEUR'S QUADRANT: Basic Science and Technological Innovation (by Donald E. Stokes). Dr. Zhou’s key contributions include the “triple helix field”, “government-pulled triple helix,” “triple helix circulation” concepts. She was invited to Stanford University as a Visiting Scholar in 08.2004~08.2005. She is also a visiting professor at Tsinghua University (China, 2001~2002), Stony Brook University (USA, 2006~2007), Newcastle University (UK, 2007~2008), Complutense University of Madrid (Spain, 2010~2011) and research fellow of the Mid-Sweden University (Sweden, 2011~2012).
