Мельда Оздемир

Assist. Prof. Dr. Melda Özdemir received her B.Arch. degree from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, İstanbul Kültür University in 2011. She pursued her graduate studies in the Building Science Program of the Department of Architecture at Yıldız Technical University, where she earned her M.Arch. degree in 2018 and her Ph.D. in 2025.

She joined the Department of Interior Architecture, Faculty of Architecture at İstanbul Arel University as a Research Assistant in 2017, where she has actively contributed to numerous academic, administrative, and educational activities related to teaching, research, and departmental management. In October 2025, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Interior Architecture.

Dr. Özdemir has undertaken several institutional quality assurance and administrative responsibilities. She served as a member of the İstanbul Arel University Quality Coordination Working Group in 2024, was appointed as a member of the Faculty of Architecture Quality Commission in 2025, and has been serving as the University Coordinator of Social Contributions since 2026.

She has also been actively involved in academic publishing. After serving on the Organizing Committee of the University's "Journal of Interdisciplinary Innovation Studies" in 2020, she has held the position of Managing Editor since 2021.

Her primary research interests include building science and construction technologies, green buildings, environmental sustainability, smart buildings, and integrated green-smart building systems. Her specialized research focuses on healthy healthcare facilities, green hospitals, smart hospitals, and integrated green-smart hospital systems. She has authored numerous national and international scientific publications in these fields.
