Prof. Asanka S. Rodrigo obtained his BScEng(Hons) in Electrical Engineering with First Class honors and MSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa in 2002 and 2004 respectively. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2010. Prof. Rodrigo joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka as a lecturer in 2004 and was promoted to Senior lecturer in 2010 and full professor in 2021. He held the post of Director, of the Postgraduate Studies Division of the Faculty of Engineering and the Chairman of the Energy Management Committee of the University of Moratuwa. He was a member of the Board of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Senate Higher Degree Committee, Planning and Development Committee of the University of Moratuwa. So far, he has supervised more than 35 Master of Science degrees and 2 Master of Philosophy degrees, authored one book and 2 book chapters and published over 40 national and international technical papers in the areas of ergonomics, electric, power and energy. He is the recipient of the Teaching Assistant Excellent Award for two consecutive years (2009 and 2010) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, merit award for international scientific publication in 2015 from the National Science Foundation (NFS) of Sri Lanka and academic award for the excellence research for year 2016 to 2021 continuously. Prof. Rodrigo was the President of IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Sri Lankan section for the period of 2019 to 2021, member of IEEE(US), an associate member of the Institute of Engineers' Sri Lanka and Energy Managers’ Association of Sri Lanka.
