I am a Senior lecturer at the Department of African Languages at the University of Witwatersrand. I joined the institution in March 2019. I am lecturing 2nd Year students- Sound and Sound System of African Languages, 3rd Year - Structure and Meaning of words and Sentences in African Languages, AFRL 4007 Honours – Approved topic in Linguistics, and AFRL 3001 – Comparative Studies in African Languages. Supervising Honours, M.A., and PhD students in Language and Linguistics in African Languages

I was appointed as an external examiner for thesis and dissertations at UJ and UP in 2022, External moderator for NWU SETM 322 in 2021 and 2022, a promoter for 2 PhD students at NWU in 2022 and 2023, a discussant for PhD proposals at the UJ and UP in 2022 and appointed as an Internal reader for PhD and MA Research Dissertation in Department of Translation and interpreting at Wits in 2022 and 2023.

I have been collaborating with other colleagues from other departments where we write papers and chapters for publication. I have presented several papers online and face-to-face internationally and locally, e.g., at UNISA, and BAALA conferences in Vanderbiljpark, University of Botswana, Turkey. I have reviewed papers, book chapters and ethics applications for SLLM ethics applications, SAJAL, and Tydskrif vir Letterkunde Journal. I am an editor of Frontiers in Communication Journal. Currently, I am working with other colleagues in the BlindSA project for phone development in isiZulu.

Previously I worked as a Setswana subject specialist (FET) in the North-west Department of Basic Education in Bojanala District where I have written prescribed books for Grade 7 - 9 learners and educators books. I was a Chief Examiner for National and Provincial Setswana Home Language and Third Language Grade 12 Paper 2 from 1999 – 2010.
