About

My Purpose: As a Black, Latine, Third Culture, ancestral worshipping, habitual line-stepping single parent, my purpose in life is to use my action-oriented connecting, combined with my love for positive revelations, to encourage global empathy, critical thinking, and inspiration, while reducing bystander mentalities.

Aletha R. Cherry, Ph.D., is an energetic K through Gray global educator, currently serving as the President of the Georgia Chapter of Partners of the Americas. In addition to this leadership role, Dr. Cherry is a Regional Council Member for The Smithsonian Institution; a National Committee Member and Regional Historian for Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated; and is the Chair of the Georgia Association of International Educators, further emphasizing her commitment to educational excellence and cultural awareness.

Dr. Cherry's career spans various roles, including Director of Elementary Curriculum and Assessment at Gradient Learning, curriculum designer for the International Baccalaureate, and faculty member at the University of the Virgin Islands. She is currently the K-12 Associate Editor for India at Six Red Marbles, a curriculum design leader serving U.S. schools. She has also taught in multiple capacities within Atlanta, Georgia, where she led numerous initiatives to promote NASA, STEM education, and student activism.

An open-minded community activist, Dr. Cherry has contributed to significant publications regarding the Sustainable Development Goals and the lived experiences of Afrodescendants throughout the Americas. She enjoys performing for local samba groups and spending time with her son, Man of Morehouse Caleb, her daughter, passista Nandi, and their dog Serafina.
