Tetiana Pastushenko
About
Tetiana Pastushenko is a Candidate of Historical Sciences (Ph.D.), Senior Research Associate at theInstitute of History of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), and Vice-President of the International Mauthausen Committee. She is also the Head of the Educational Laboratory of the Oral History Center at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Her research focuses on: Civilian victims in Ukraine during the Second World War, Soviet prisoners of war, the Nazi occupation, Oral history, memory studies.
Since 2025, she has been a recipient of the Pause Scholarship at CERCEC, where she is working on the research project "Soviet POWs and the Ukrainian Question: History and Memory."
From 2022 to 2024, she held the Philippe Schwarze Scholarship at Heidelberg University, conducting research on "Soviet Prisoners of War in Ukraine: Camp System, Legal Status, Labor Deployment, and Individual Fates."
