Education

1997-2002—studied violin at the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music, Moscow. Graduated cum laude.

2004—Performing Postgraduate courses as violinist and a singer-countertenor at the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music, Moscow. Graduated both cum laude.

2004-2007—Postgraduate course in musicology at the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music, Moscow, & the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire, Rostov-on-Don—Graduated cum laude. Ph.D.: System of Tragic Conflicts in Oratorios by G. F. Handel.

2007-2010—the Higher Doctorate (Doctor of Science in Arts History) at the Maimonides State Academy, Moscow, the Russian Institute of Art History, St. Petersburg, & the Saratov State Conservatoire, Saratov. The dissertation: Holistic Analysis as the Key Analytical Approach in Study of Artistic Texts (Based on Musical Art).

2011-2020—the Higher Doctorate (Doctor of Science in Cultural Studies) at the Institute of Philosophy, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, & the Saint Petersburg State University, Saint Petersburg. The dissertation: Manifestation of the “Non-Self Conception” and Experience of a Catastrophe in European Artistic Practices from the 15th to the 20th Centuries.

Academic publications

Grigoriy Konson is the author of 7 monographs (two of them is co-authored) and of 60+ academic papers in peer-reviewed journals.

In parallel with research, he wrote 12 tutorials for students and teachers, edited 21 Conference Proceedings, monographs and textbooks. The researcher is author over 60 reviews on the D.Sc. dissertations & Ph.D. thesis (in Art History, Cultural Studies, Pedagogics, Psychology, Philology, Philosophy, & Technics), and monographs.

Grigoriy Konson is a Scientific Advisor of 2 Ph.D. in Music History and Theory and 2 D.Sc. Dissertation in History and Theory of Art and Culture (as well as a number of Master Theses).
