Marcel Beausoleil

I am currently researching philosophy of policing. I am also researching use of force by police trying to develop a philosophy to guide "just force." Further I am involved in researching the use of deception by police and its effects on society and views of the legitimacy of the police. My goal is to argue for a four degree requirement for entry level policing as well as a longer, more comprehensive training period incorporating adult learning strategies. The degree program for police should be heavy in moral philosophy and ethical decision making, human rights, psychology, and human services, as well as law and policing.
