About

Dr Owen P.L. Mtambo is the Biostatistician and Head of Data Science Department at Training and Research Unit of Excellence (TRUE) in Malawi. He was a Biostatistician for MHIRST within the department of Public Health at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences since September 2021. He was a Part-time Lecturer in Geoinformation Systems (GIS) at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) from October 2019 to August 2021. He was a Lecturer in Biostatistics at Namibia University of Science and Technology from March 2014 to March 2019. He was a Lecturer in Statistics at University of Malawi from July 2007 to March 2014. He was a Secondary school teacher in Mathematics and Physics in Malawi from January 2002 to June 2007. He holds a PhD in Statistics (2019) obtained from University of South Africa (UNISA) plus an MSc (Biostatistics) with credit (2012), a BSc (Mathematical Sciences) with distinction (2007), and a DipEdu (Sciences) with distinction (2001); all obtained from University of Malawi. He has at least 8 publications, at least 8 successful postgraduate student research supervisions, and at least 8 international conference oral presentations including USA.
