International publication. Article published in December 2002, in the journal Archives of Surgery, by invitation: Surgery in Costa Rica.
The article covers the history of surgery in Costa Rica, development of surgery and access of population to surgery prior and after birth of National Health System, present surgical facilities, review of categories of more specialized surgeries performed, incidence of surgical site infection, surgical mortality, graduate programs and surgical research.
Other areas of research
A series of themes dealing with resolution of chronic inflammation, mucosal barrier strengthening and surface science inter-talk between mucosal surfaces and epithelial cells are being designed by Dr. Feoli and are meant to develop other products that will deal hard to resolve medical problems.
Medical directorship of scientific and medical research
Since 1995 Dr. Feoli has lead the effort in conceiving the principles and designing pharmaceutical prototypes that have reached the stage of pre-clinical and clinical verification for a whole family of products to be launched to market. Bioacyl Corp. and medACTIL, Ltda. have jointly undertaken such effort. The culmination of this process has opened the door for Polyactil gel reaching the stage where it can obtain GRAS status in the US and its active principle,
In view of aforementioned, Polyactil Buffer becoming a candidate to the registered in the US Pharmacopoeia.
