About

Dr. Bilal Ahmad is currently serving as a faculty member at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU-NCC). He received his Ph.D. in Electronics, Electrical, and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, funded by the EU Horizon 2020 DYNASAT project. His research interests include Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), Graph Theory, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Digital Communications, MIMO systems, and Optimization Theory.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Ahmad worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Bologna, where he contributed to several European collaborative projects such as DYNASAT, 6G-NTN, and EAGER focusing on advanced radio resource management and user scheduling techniques for next-generation satellite communication systems. He has also served in various academic and administrative positions at Lahore Leads University, Pakistan.

Dr. Ahmad has authored multiple publications in leading international conferences and journals in the areas of satellite communications and non-terrestrial networks. He currently leads the Digital Communications and Networking Lab at METU-NCC, where he supervises undergraduate and graduate research projects. Metrics description
h-index
A scientist has an h-index if h of his N publications are cited at least h times each, while the remaining (N - h) publications are cited no more than h times each.
i10-index
The number of the author's publications that received at least 10 links each.
m-index
The researcher's m-index is numerically equal to the ratio of his h-index to the number of years that have passed since the first publication.
o-index
The geometric mean of the h-index and the number of citations of the most cited article of the scientist.
g-index
For a given set of articles, sorted in descending order of the number of citations that these articles received, the g-index is the largest number such that the g most cited articles received (in total) at least g2 citations.
w-index
If w articles of a researcher have at least 10w citations each and other publications are less than 10(w+1) citations, then the researcher's w-index is equal to w.
