Daniel B. Ferreira
About
Daniel B. Ferreira was born in Lisboa, Portugal, in 2001, and raised in the parish of Benfica. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ISEL-IPL (2022) and a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in Energy, also from ISEL-IPL (2024), focusing his thesis work on power electronics, specifically the development of DC/DC converters for sustainable power systems. During his academic journey, he broadened his expertise through international programs at KU Leuven (Belgium) and Libera Università di Bolzano (Italy), focusing on energy sustainability and automotive transitions, respectively. He is currently a First-Stage Researcher at CTS from UNINOVA (FCT-UNL), where he assists and collaborates in developing energy-efficient and energy-conversion solutions for photovoltaic solar technology (Energy Routers). He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in power electronics, at NOVA FCT-UNL. His research focuses on bipolar DC grid power conversion and control strategies, exploring methods to improve efficiency, stability, and reliability in energy distribution systems. His work includes investigating advanced power electronics solutions, control methodologies, and experimental validation techniques.Research interests include themes on power electronics applied to DC grids, renewable energy sources (RES), electromagnetic interferences (EMI), control of power systems and power quality; electrical energy storage and efficiency; and electrical machine design.
