Abstract
Using the representation of a completely stiff macromolecule as a long rigid rod and the representation of a semiflexible macromolecule as a chain of freely rotating connected effective rigid rods, the conditions of formation of the liquid-crystalline phase in the solutions of such macromolecules are obtained and the diagram of states for the corresponding phase transitions in the variables temperature-volume fraction of polymer in the solution is constructed.
