The Geophysical Data Laboratory serves as the World Data Center for Solar-Terrestrial Physics and the World Data Center for Solid Earth Physics. He is engaged in forecasting the locations of possible earthquakes and other issues of seismology.

  1. Collecting data from networks of observatories, the results of land and sea expeditions, satellite launches, special experiments, etc.
  2. Data management — analysis, quality control, systematization, organization of guaranteed long-term data storage.
  3. Reference and information support of archives and databases, creation of metadata.
  4. Ensuring free access to data, promoting educational programs. Participation in scientific research.
