About
RM graduated as an MD at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium, 1982). After three years of clinical work and two years of education in Computer Science, he moved to a research field now called Computational Neuroscience. His initial research was in circuit models of visual cortex (K.U. Leuven, PhD and Habilitation, 1994), cerebellum (University of Antwerp) and basal ganglia (Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris). His current research interests comprise the physiology and pathophysiology of extracellular space.
