Kaiqiang Liu
About
Dr. Kaiqiang Liu, originally from Inner Mongolia, China, earned his B.Sc. degree in 2001 and his Ph.D. in 2007 under the supervision of Professor Yu Fang at Shaanxi Normal University, where he focused on functional molecular gels. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in physical chemistry at the same institution from 2009 to 2012. Between 2012 and 2013, he was a visiting professor in the Supramolecular Chemistry Group at Durham University, where his research concentrated on two-component molecular gels.
Currently, Dr. Liu is a full professor of Chemistry at Shaanxi Normal University. His research interests include functional molecular gels, dynamic covalent bonding materials, interfacial adhesion, and controlled crystallization or polymerization. He has made significant contributions to the field, including the development of tunable rheological behaviors of molecular gels, spatially confined crystallization of organic semiconductors for high-performance photoelectric detection, and dynamic interfacial adhesion under extreme conditions.
Since 2004, Dr. Liu has published about 100 research papers. He was named one of the top ten outstanding reviewers for the RSC journal Soft Matter in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Furthermore, he received the first Awards for Functional Soft Materials from the Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province in both 2010 and 2019.
