Anand Manish

I am an interdisciplinary policy researcher with over 18 years of professional experience in science, sustainability, and public policy. My expertise lies in interdisciplinary research, project coordination, management, outreach, and capacity building. I have worked across various fields, including food, agriculture, land use, climate change, energy and environment, and emerging technology policy.

Currently, my research and policy analysis, in collaboration with the global coalition on sustainable food and land use systems (FOLU) and its initiatives in India, focus on generating evidence-based strategies and methodologies using systems thinking approaches. These efforts aim to promote sustainable food and land use systems, which encompass sustainable agricultural practices, natural resource management, rural livelihoods, human health and nutrition, and climate change mitigation.

My work has received support from organizations such as IDRC, DFID, GIZ, JICA, WHO, UNDP, GGGI, the IKEA Foundation, the Government of India, and various state governments. I have also provided advisory services to central and state governments in India on agriculture and climate change issues. Additionally, I was part of the team that conducted detailed analysis and modeling for the preparation of India’s Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), with support from the Government of India.

As a visiting faculty member, I focus on systems thinking, sustainability, and socio-economic empowerment.
