Pan Junhua

Junhua Pan is a structural biologist and biochemist with a major research focus on viruses, viral proteins (such as viral DNA and RNA polymerases and envelope glycoproteins), antibody immunity, and the arms race between viruses and human immune system. He also engineers proteins and viruses into tools to achieve high throughput structural determination, to facilitate immunogen design and analysis, and to target cells with precision. Junhua earned his BSc degree from Wuhan Polytechnic University in 1999, MSc degree from Jiangnan University in 2002, and Ph.D. degree from Rice University in 2008. He did his postdoctoral training with Stephen C. Harrison at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. He is currently Professor of Biomedical Sciences and head of Laboratory of Structural Biology and Molecular Medicine at Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan, China.
