Miguel Pulido-Rodríguez Ángel
About
Miguel Ángel Pulido-Rodríguez is a researcher and professor at Blanquerna - Universitat Ramon Llull, specializing in successful educational actions (2001-...), interreligious dialogue (2004-...) multicultural secularism (2004-...), the preventive socialization of gender-based violence, sexual abuse or bullying (2006-...), and proposals of faith and spirituality in the university context from both confessional and non-confessional perspectives (2012-...). He has participated in multiple I+D+i research projects, contributing to the scientific understanding of education as a tool for social transformation (2001-...).
His academic career includes membership in two consolidated research groups at the University of Barcelona—one in education (2011–2014) and another in social work (2021–2024)—as well as an emerging research group on sociocultural animation at Universitat Ramon Llull (2015–2021). Currently, he is involved in the research line on religion and spirituality within GREDA (Emerging Research Group on Education, Didactics, and Learning). His research excellence has been recognized by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU) with two sexenios, one of which remains active. His publications in indexed journals address topics ranging from dialogic literary gatherings to the role of spirituality in education and the intersection of faith and social justice.
Since March 2025, he has chaired the SACRU Research Working Group on Formative Proposals Related to Faith and Spirituality, leading an international effort to analyze the social impact of faith- and spirituality-based initiatives in higher education. His recent projects align with this focus, including two studies funded by the ‘Pluralismo y Convivencia’ Foundation: EDUISLAM (2023–2024), which examines the pilot plan for Islamic religious education in Catalonia, and DIAPLU (2025–2026), which explores coexistence in migrant-concentrated neighborhoods.
Currently, he has submitted a research proposal as Principal Investigator (PI) for Spain’s I+D+i program: “Dialogic Education as a Source of Inclusive Spirituality,” investigating how dialogic education fosters inclusive spirituality in schools and universities.
