Tosin Oyeniyi
About
Tosin OYENIYI is an innovative and transformative consulting geoscientist with a Master of Science (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science (Second Class Upper) in Applied Geophysics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He has a proven track record of ability to deliver excellently in independent and collaborative teaching and research projects and real-world geophysical application projects. In addition, he possesses unwavering commitment to broadening his horizons and capacity to stay and make impact at the cutting-edge of science, technology, and ongoing industrial revolution.
As one of his initiatives to make a sustainable development impact in Nigeria and globally, he is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eltosin GeoTechnologies (RC 6980600), his privately-owned, independent, and multiservice consulting company, that provides dynamic, technology-driven geophysical solutions at the nexus of energies, minerals, and environmental hazards, serving individuals, organizations, and governments to facilitate both localized and global sustainable digital earth transformation and development.
In the last two years, he successfully worked on projects in geothermal exploration, mineral exploration, and environmental hazard assessment. He also made his third first-authored publication in Results in Geophysical Sciences, one of Elsevier's high impact and reputable international journals. And he volunteered as an off-site technical abstract reviewer for the International Meeting for Applied Geoscience and Energy (IMAGE) 2023 held at Houston, USA. He also conceptualized a research-based initiative, SMARTGAIN, that earned him a place as one of the first beneficiaries of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Sustainable Development in Energy Venture Lab in partnership with Pro-Ally in 2024, he has an output of the initiative accepted for oral presentation at an upcoming international conference in the first quarter of 2025, and he is currently working on other outputs.
Likewise, he conceptualized a mentorship-based and tutorial-based initiative, Magradel, that leverages video technologies to provide educative, insightful, and relatable content on geophysical methods, including magnetic, gravity, radiometric, and electromagnetic methods. This initiative covers their theory, data gathering, processing, and interpretation using digital technologies such as software, as well as their applications in energy exploration, mineral exploration, and environmental hazard assessment. The initiative has started gaining momentum through an inaugural LinkedIn Live Event.
His consulting potential and experience in geoscience were discovered and developed through his outstanding and intensive undergraduate research that involved ground acquisition of magnetic data at about nine hundred (900) stations over the Obafemi Awolowo University campus (about 7.2 km x 4 km) to produce and interpret new magnetic and pseudogravity maps of the campus in 2013/2014 under Shell Professor of Geophysics Laboratory (SPGL) of Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo University, his graduate internship at Geokopex Geophysical Services Limited in 2014/2015, and graduate research assistant at Earthquake and Space Weather Laboratory (ESWL), Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2017 - 2019.
His geophysical expertise includes but not limited to magnetic, gravity, electromagnetic, radiometric, and electrical methods.
