About

Born on 08.01.39 in Voronezh, graduated with honors from the Mining College (Rostov-on-Don, 1957) and Donetsk Polytechnic Institute (Donetsk, 1962) with a degree in Mine and Underground Construction.

Place of work and position:

1. mining foreman and shift engineer in the construction of vertical shafts (trust "Donetskshakhtoprokhodka", Donetsk, 1963),

2. Junior and then senior researcher and deputy head of the laboratory of the Donugi Research Institute, Donetsk, 1964-69.,

3. Senior lecturer, then associate professor and professor of the Donbass State Technical University (from 1969 to the present).

Defense of doctoral dissertations "Development of geotechnical parameters and methods for creating rock-bearing structures from explosion-unloaded and hardened rocks" in 1988 (Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine SSR, Dnepropetrovsk).

Area of scientific interests (main scientific directions):

• new scientific doctrine of manless underground mining;

• development of new unconventional mining technologies at great depths of development;

• progressive unconventional designs of basic mining equipment samples;

• mechanics of rocks (theory of strength, methods and devices for determining the physical and mechanical properties of rocks, rock pressure in underground workings, stress-strain state of rocks and massifs, processes of deformation and destruction of rocks);

• physical processes of mining (geomechanics of explosion, introscopy of rocks and massifs, filtration of liquid and gas, hardening and softening of rocks, management of the stressed state of the massif);

• fixing, maintenance and protection of mine workings, stability management of underground mine workings, construction and calculation of supports for underground mine workings and structures;

In total, more than 350 scientific publications and articles have been published (more than 140 of them without co-authors), including 7 monographs. More than 150 inventions and patents have been obtained (65 of them without co-authors). About 40 original methodological developments for the educational process in higher education.

Metrics description
h-index
A scientist has an h-index if h of his N publications are cited at least h times each, while the remaining (N - h) publications are cited no more than h times each.
i10-index
The number of the author's publications that received at least 10 links each.
m-index
The researcher's m-index is numerically equal to the ratio of his h-index to the number of years that have passed since the first publication.
o-index
The geometric mean of the h-index and the number of citations of the most cited article of the scientist.
g-index
For a given set of articles, sorted in descending order of the number of citations that these articles received, the g-index is the largest number such that the g most cited articles received (in total) at least g2 citations.
w-index
If w articles of a researcher have at least 10w citations each and other publications are less than 10(w+1) citations, then the researcher's w-index is equal to w.
