About
Sohrab Hadeei received first Bachelor’s degree in General Psychology in July 2019 and then completed his Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in January 2022 at the Islamic Azad University South Tehran Branch, Tehran, Iran. His dissertation focused on the dimensional structure and psychometrics (e.g., validity & reliability) of the Persian version of the existential loneliness questionnaire (ELQ) (2023) that was developed by Mayers & colleagues in 2002 and after studied psychometrically by Turkish scholars in 2018). A little later, Hadeei continued to develop a new measurement scale in order for assessing existential type of loneliness in a more accurate and appropriate way. First version of Existential Loneliness Scale (ELS) as a self-reporting instrument consists of 19 items rated on a five-point likert scale. The ELS is developed by Hadeei (2023) particularly to measure the intensity and prevalence of thoughts and feelings that are often perceived by young and adult people in the context of existential loneliness experience. The basic idea of Hadeei is that existential loneliness can be better measured by a comprehensively formulated conceptualization of the subject.
Before this, Hadeei interested in the study of interdisciplinary fields, specially philosophy of psychology, and theoretical & philosophical psychology. More Specifically, his area of expertise and concentration of study is the concept of the self, in addition to existential loneliness. He is passionate about conceptualizing the self in an interdisciplinary context and building a meta-theory of this subject.
He has already written 2 books in Persian; the first is a textbook, entitled ʹPsychology and Philosophyʹ published by Daneshyaran-e Iran Publication in 1400/2021 (ISNB: 978-600-434-761-7), which deals with the philosophy of psychology, philosophical psychology, and theoretical psychology of Islamic philosophers. The book introduces the philosophical foundations of empirical psychology and its relevant perspectives and conceptualizations and also explores Islamic philosophersʹ theories and ideas in the fields of theoretical psychology; Second is a book entitled ʹAn Inquiry into the Selfʹ published by Bahman-e Borna publication in 1400/2021 (ISNB: 978-622-6653-20-6), which introduces various ideas about the self already proposed in philosophy, psychology, sociology, and neuroscience and explores diverse conceptualizing manners of the topic.
